Caught your attention? Okay, so maybe slippers aren't all that sexy... but they're a great project for learning a lot of new techniques. And they keep your feet warm, too. Cold feet are definitely not sexy, right?

What It's All About

You know how to knit. But you'd like to learn how to purl and follow a pattern. You'll also learn how to use stitch markers and "read your knitting" as well as sew up a couple of small seams. And you'll get a chance to see how gauge works. All while making a sweet pair of slippers. We'll also provide a materials kit with knitting needles, machine washable yarn and a pattern for slippers in three sizes. 

Skill Level

This workshop is designed for those who are very new to knitting. You can cast on and knit. You want to gain more skills and techniques but you don't have a lot of time.

Please bring:

Nothing! We've put together a project kits (yarn, needles, notions and patterns) so you don't have to bring anything. (Please note: faux fur pom poms not included.)


  • All the materials you need to make a sweet pair of slippers, including a knitting needles and a machine washable yarn.

  • Four hours of patient and knowledgeable instruction.

  • A great project that is practical (mmmm... warm feet!) and will help you develop your knitting skills in all sorts of new ways!

Other important info that you should know about...

  • You have to pay the registration fee in advance to hold your seat. You can pay online or call the store at 780-477-9276 to make a payment over the phone.

  • This workshop may be held on our mezzanine level which is roomy but only accessible by stairs. If you have mobility issues and can't manage the stairs, please contact Cynthia:

  • Cancellations? We know you have every intention of coming, but life happens, so we need a cancellation policy, and this is it: 

    • If you cancel 7 days (or more) prior to your workshop date, we will refund your registration fee less a $25 administration & service fee.

    • No refunds will be made if you have to cancel less than 7 days before your class is scheduled to begin. If you are unable to attend, you may ask a friend to take your place.

    • If minimum enrolment is not met we reserve the right to cancel the class. A full refund of your registration fee will be given should this situation arise.
