What It's All About

Join Lucy for a full day workshop (6 hours) that will provide you with an overview of lace knitting and a chance to learn “by hand” how to create lace in knitting. Lucy will talk with you about selecting materials, needles and suitable patterns. These decisions can have a big impact on your journey as well as your final outcome. She will show you how to read lace charts and help you prepare your own from written directions. You will learn how to “read” lace stitches in your knitted work. Lucy will teach you invaluable safety measures (in case you have to pull out a few rows) and rescue techniques (oops!). In this workshop, you will work on a sample that includes: yarnovers, multiple yarnovers, paired decreases and other fundamental lace knitting techniques and experiment with a variety of styles of applied lace edgings.

This workshop will take place at the Hilton Doubletree Silverbirch Conference Centre. You will be treated to a hot continental breakfast, buffet lunch and non-stop beverages and snacks all day long (included in your registration fee). You’ll enjoy the retreat atmosphere that the hotel provides while learning new skills.
