What It's All About
We kick off our week with Lucy Neatby with a brand new pattern design and a brand new class! Join us for a 3 hour workshop in which Lucy shows you how to create a knit-to-fit hat, designed to extract the maximum dramatic effect from your self-patterning yarn. You will learn how to create a strip of connected domino squares and how to use them to size your hat while also creating a lovely brim. Lucy will share the simple formula for calculating the number of stitches required to form the base of your hat and explain how to achieve a squared crown shaping to make the most of your variegated yarn and mirror the domino patterning of the brim. You’ll learn valuable tips and techniques to neaten the public sides of your squares, to join your squares together and to pick up and knit in the round from your brim. Participants in this workshop will be gifted a copy of Lucy’s brand new hat design for River City Yarns on the day of the workshop.
This workshop will take place at River City Yarns and may be held on our mezzanine level which is roomy but only accessible by stairs. If you have any concerns regarding your mobility on the stairs, please contact Cynthia: firstname.lastname@example.org.
