Add beads to your knitting... it's easier than you might think! Margaret will show you how to add beads as you go (no prestringing required) as you work through Sivia Harding's pattern for the Egyptian Bracelet. This eye catching "cuff" will get you comfortable working with beads and inspire you to try other projects. Sivia Harding has several patterns and Margaret will give you a number of ideas for adding beads to garments and accessories.
One ball of smooth fingering or lighter weight yarn such as Lang Opal Lame (77% viscose, 15% polyamide, 8% polyester) or Needful Yarn's Elba (100% nylon), 3.75mm wood/bamboo double pointed needles (only 2 needles are required), size 6 glass seed beads (approximately 156 beads), (6) 8.0mm beads (for button closure), fray check, dental floss threader (for threading beads) and Sivia Harding's Egyptian Beaded Wristlet pattern. (Kits are available in store).
You can cast on and cast off, knit and purl and you have followed a pattern to finish a project. You can recognize mistakes and have attempted to fix them. You own a knitting reference book and you've used it to figure out a stitch or abbreviation. You've completed several projects and now you're ready to change colours, make holes on purpose and create textured patterns.
