Rae's Transformational Wrap
Rae picked up some of the Rowan Colourscapes yarn (100% lambs wool) in colours inspired by Kaffe Fassett and she whipped up this circular wrap. Fortunately for us, Rae took great notes and passed them along for all of us who want to try this easy knit. The secret of its beauty is in the beautiful colourways, the chunky yarn and big needles, a good blocking and (of course) our lovely model, Jen.

New! Painted Pleats Scarf
Lucky us! Lucky you! Laurie Day created this lovely scarf pattern and is allowing us to post it up for you - free! (Mouseover image for a close-up). Using knit, and purl stitches along with paired decreases and yarn overs, lovely little pleats are created. Use a self striping yarn and the pleats become painted. Once started the 14 row pattern is easily memorized.

Vintage Bobby Socks
You may have seen the Cabled Bobby Socks that Cynthia knit using two balls of Drops Alpaca in a light shade of pink. The pattern for the socks came from a very old Beehive pattern (pictured left). It was designed for 12-14 year olds, but we knit it without changes using fingering weight yarn and they turned out beautifully for an adult ladies foot. There are two patterns here - (A) is a fancy rib bobby sock and (B) is the cabled bobby sock.

My So Called Scarf
Marcene found this pattern on the internet and thought she'd give it a try... while a bit confusing at first, she soon fell in love with the pattern and the way it highlighted the colours of handcrafted, kettle dyed pure wool from Manos del Uruguay.
