Carefree Holiday Knitting – As the weather starts to turn chilly, knitters’ compassionate minds turn toward warming their families’ hearts and bodies…. We’ve been busy gathering yarns and patterns to help you complete your ambitious holiday knitting list. Here are some quick and easy project ideas! For those Christmas parties and occasions that call for some sparkle – knit up a poncho or capelet. Simple shaping and flexible sizing make them perfect gifts.    
Mirage is a wide ribbon yarn that is made of 100% Nylon. This poncho is a one size garment and takes 3 balls of Mirage at only $6.99/ball This simple, eyelet capelet is knit in the round from the top down. It uses 3 balls of Opulence, a lovely ribbon yarn with glitter – kit with pattern is priced under $30 and comes in 5 different colors. Great little topper for an evening outfit. Wow Poncho Kit - Knit this soft and cuddly casual poncho in no time using Sirdar WOW! – an ultra thick and soft, 100% nylon, chenille-like yarn put up in big 100 gram balls. It’s knit in one piece on 7mm needles and comes in 3 colors - dark chocolate brown, rich black and deep blue. Kit including pattern is priced from $43.50 for kid’s sizes to $69.99 for Adult Sizes. Soft and Fluffy Mittens – These mittens can be knit in one evening by combining two yarns and using large 10mm needles. Shown above in Sirdar yarns, they can also be knit in a variety of chunky fibres. Make several pairs for all your friends!

A stitch dictionary of 120 of the most popular stitches with charts and instructions on how to do them is a highlight. It also shows you how to embellish your knitting with embroidery and how to knit with beads and sequins, and much, much more. Christmas Store Hours – We are open Mon to Fri – 10 AM to 6 PM, Thursdays till 9 PM and Saturdays 11 AM to 5 PM. Come by and browse, pick out great gift ideas and share some eggnog with us! We will be closed Saturday Dec 24th and Sunday Dec 25th, reopening on Boxing Day Dec 26th. We will be closed on New Year’s Day - January 1st. Workshops – Knitting 101 will be starting again on January 7th – Saturday mornings from 9 to 11 AM. Crochet 101 will be starting again January 5th – 4:30 to 6:30 PM – These classes are $75 for 6 weeks of instruction. New workshops – Felted Designer Handbags – Treena Gendall will show you how to design and knit your own “one of a kind” felted handbag by color combining specific wools and novelty yarns and ribbons. Dates and times - TBD Magical Moebius Workshop - We are taking names now for a January Moebius workshop – if you would like to learn this knitting technique – call and reserve your space. $50 – ½ day session My First Sweater and Intermediate Sweater Workshops – Dates for these are being planned now – Learn how to make a basic sweater and/or a raglan sleeved pullover or cardigan. Samples for viewing at the store. $75 - $100 plus materials. Call for more details. Charity Knitting – Come and help make mittens for inner city school kids at St. Mary’s School.
